  4. Nirvana 3.1 features many exciting enhancements, including:

  6.   - Scoring system
  7.   - First Wimsey Contest with $1,000 CASH prize
  8.   - Top 10 Players Scoreboard bulletin
  9.   - Save and restore a game position online
  10.   - Interrupt-driven com port I/O for online version
  11.   - Numerous improvements in game appearance, logic, fairness and bug fixes
  12.   - The Nirvana BBS door runs in a 200 K RAM partition.

  14. SYSOPS PLEASE NOTE:
  15.  
  16. Version 3.0b corrected a problem where the program in a rare situation was
  17. unable to open a file because too many files were open.
  18.  
  19. Until the First Wimsey Contest is over, SYSOPS running Nirvana online should
  20. post a news item or bulletin telling users "Wimsey Co. offers $1,000 CASH
  21. PRIZE!  Play Nirvana 3.1 for details."

  23. Sysops are also requested to post and circulate a copy of the most recent
  24. available Wimsey Contest Bulletin (see file BULLETIN.n).  Thanks to all for
  25. your cooperation and support.

  27. CONVERSION FROM 2.0 TO 3.x
  28.  
  29. To convert from Nirvana 2.0, add lines like the following to your Nirvana
  30. config file if applicable.  (See NIRVTECH.DOC for details.  Multi-node users
  31. see the documentation concerning file sharing; high speed modem users look
  32. there for note regarding modem configuration.)

  34.   BBS=Your BBS's Name    {registered BBS Name shows up on initial screen;
  35.                           this line is required}

  38. Users with PCBOARD.SYS file add:

  40.   TOP10=c:\pcb\gen\BLTn  {location of a bulletin file which can be read from
  41.                           your board's bulletin menu; multi-node setups should
  42.                           use the same location for all nodes unless there's a
  43.                           file sharing compatibility issue.}
  44.   SAVE                   {optional save and restore, see documentation}

  46. Multi-node PCBOARD users, add

  48.  SCORE=c:\nirvana\score.dta {all nodes keep "Top 10 Scores" data in one file
